Summary Administration is an abbreviated process compared to using a Formal Administration and the most common for a majority of the probate estate cases. You may use the Summary Administration process if the value of the probate estate less the property that is exempt from the claims of creditors is $75,000 or less and the debts of the estate are paid or the creditors do not object. A Summary Administration may also be used if the person died more than 2 years ago and there was no prior administration.
